FAIR Trade Group Organizational Announcements

The FAIR Trade Group Board of Directors is pleased to announce that several new initiatives have been developing over the past few months to increase the profile of the organization throughout the firearms industry. These initiatives will also assist in the development of additional funding and to increase the benefits of the organization to the membership. The Board anticipates the initiatives will be released individually over the course of the next month or two.

The first of these initiatives is an announcement to change the name of the organization to add export policy as a matter of interest. This change reflects a widening interest on the part of the membership in export related policies. Henceforth the organization will be known as the FireArms Import/Export Roundtable. Though we have changed our name, we will retain the name FAIR Trade Group for regular communications. The Board formally adopted this name change this fall.

The board has determined that the change was justified based on the many members who are currently in the firearms, parts and ammunition import business that are either already engaged in active exporting or have indicated a desire to pursue business opportunities through the export of product. FAIR has recently been active on behalf of the industry on export related matter and the change in name is designed to reflect this increased activity.

In addition to changing the formal name of the organization, the Board of Directors has developed a new logo for the organization and is presently reconstructing the website to more accurately reflect the ongoing and active role the organization plays in policy development in Washington. It is the anticipation and desire of FAIR that members will place a logo and hotlink for FAIR on their website to assist us in spreading the word of the work we are doing.

Finally, FAIR will begin shortly an aggressive campaign to assist in the education of the firearms community of the work we are undertaking. The work FAIR has completed over the years has provided the firearms import community with direct and tangible benefits that can be quantified to your business. FAIR will continue to pursue this active agenda to benefit the businesses in the industry and your assistance in spreading the word about our work is necessary.
