The F.A.I.R. Trade Group is a 501(c)(6) organization dedicated to protecting the interests of the firearms and ammunition import/export community. Our mission is to keep the American firearms and ammunition markets open to the global community of suppliers to ensure consumers the broadest market choices. We operate entirely on the funds derived from contributions and our dues paying membership. F.A.I.R. is working to eliminate many of the bureaucratic systemic inefficiencies that drive up costs and frustration levels for both the government and private sector. While maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, F.A.I.R. works with regulatory agencies in a constructive manner to improve regulations governing firearm/ammunition imports and exports.TVoice For Firearms and Ammunition Importers and Exporters As the voice of the firearms/ammunition import and export community, F.A.I.R. is constantly working to overcome these challenges and promote greater awareness of the significance of imports for the firearms and ammunition trades as a whole. Since our founding in 1994, we have… 1. Engaged with Congress to promote and improve legislation that will impact our membership. Notable examples: advocating for the in-transit exemption from the Clinton ban on Chinese imports; supporting appropriations restrictions to prevent ATF from further restricting the definition of the sporting purpose test and also from removing firearms from the curio and relic list. 2. Advocated for U.S. importer interests before the United Nations in connection with the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and the Program of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (POA). 3. Successfully petitioned ATF to extend the Form 6 import permit validity period to 2 years. 4. Represented U.S. importers before the Obama-Biden 2013 task force on gun violence. 5. Successfully petitioned ATF to extend the term of validity for law enforcement demonstration letters required under the NFA regulations from six months to one year. 6. Represented the interests of firearm and ammunition importers and exporters during the proposed rulemaking process reforming the U.S. export controls. With your support, we will continue…
